If you remove the 3 bolts holding it on, you can put the mast in the boat and under the cover when storing the boat over the winter. This also shortens the boat when storing it inside.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e Please note: When installing, it may be necessary to purchase longer bolts. I also recommend a little silicone to seal the bolt holes as well as create a film between the mounting plate and your hull.
